The person behind it / Axel LenzConsulting · architecture · reviews

I take your UEM architecture further.

You may be planning a new architecture, enabling secure mobile access to internal apps or reviewing existing policies. I make the dependencies between BlackBerry UEM, apps, identity, networks and operations visible – and turn them into an informed decision.

I develop alternatives, challenge assumptions and give you a clear recommendation. With the reasoning behind it.

How I work

Think it through. Test it. Take a position.

For a new architecture, I establish which access methods and security mechanisms fit your environment. In a review, I examine how existing settings interact, the assumptions behind them and where changes would help. Technical feasibility, protection and ongoing operations belong in the same discussion.

I enjoy complex requirements, new possibilities and a well-argued challenge. I look for ways to simplify a design or achieve more than initially seemed possible. That thinking must produce something tangible: a reasoned recommendation, explicit prerequisites and practical next steps for your team.

Advisory work runs throughout my career, both independently and in technical roles at Good Technology and BlackBerry. I go into detail with administrators and explain the consequences to decision-makers.

How we would work together

You get something you can decide with.

  1. Clarify the outcome and constraints. What must become possible? Which requirements and dependencies are fixed?
  2. Compare feasible routes.Evaluate user experience, protection, cost and administration together.
  3. Document the decision.Capture the target design, rejected options, outstanding prerequisites and pilot criteria.

My focus is architecture and design, and security and policy reviews. Implementation and training can follow. A concrete decision example shows the approach for an internal iPhone web app.
